“I
like to design logos that reflect the symbolic and
emotional nature of the essence of a business.” |
When
not at work, Rich spends his free time as a fine art painter.
His paintings are often impressionistic and sometimes cubist.
With bold colors and bright simple content, his work has
been described as similar to the work of the French fauvism
movement, started by Matisse. The Fauvist painters placed
a strong importance on the use of color to express emotion.
“I
have always been a fine artist at heart, and a commercial
artist for practical reasons.” |
“I
have always been a fine artist at heart, and a commercial
artist for practical reasons.”
Rich’s
diverse background brings the freedom of creativity from
fine art to commercial art, and the interjection of thoughtful
diligence and perfectionism of commercial art to his paintings.
When
clients started to identify Rich with the many logos he
has designed, he earned the nickname ‘Logo Man.’
His wife often pronounces it ‘Loco Man.’
